Coming up on today's Metal Meltdown, we'll have clips from my interview with Christofer Johnsson of Therion. It's been many years since he and I have chatted (he visited the studio on tour back in 2005), but I wanted to find out about the new album, Les Fleurs Du Mal. It's created a bit of a stir on line, with reviews ranging from favorable to horrible. The horrible ones caught my eye first, of course, and I've become quite a fan of the album over the last month. Although the idea itself sounds perhaps less than appealing, a cover album made up entirely of French pop songs from the 60s and 70s, I really like it. I've included below a quick excerpt from the interview, where Chris is talking about his plan for free promotion: his hope that people who abhorred the album initially would inspire everyone else to check it out and like it.
